LIBRETTO — SYCORAX:

My opera Sycorax (with music composed by Georg Friedrich Haas) will open at Buehnen Bern theater, in Bern, Switzerland, on September 17, 2022, and will include five performances.

LIBRETTO — MY LAI

Smithsonian Folkways released the recording of My Lai on May 20, 2022.  Available to stream on Bandcamp, and also as a CD and a vinyl album.

A concert version of My Lai was performed at Carnegie Hall on April 23, 2022. Broadway World announcement.

OTHER RECENT NEWS:

I am collaborating with Mary Kouyoumdjian on a musical piece about the gifted singer Zabelle Panosian, who recorded Armenian folksongs at Columbia Records in New York in 1917, during the Armenian Genocide, and who devoted her life to sustaining the sound and knowledge and heart of Armenia.

I have also been engaged in writing the script for a film about Mother Irene Boothroyd, O.S.B., a nun at The Abbey of Regina Laudis for almost fifty years, who courageously served on the front lines as a registered nurse in World War II, from England to Utah Beach, France, Belgium, Germany, and Czechoslovakia.

This spring, I also hope to come back to short stories and children’s picture books.  More news coming soon!
